Our farm "Schachehof" is located in the plain of the river "Reuss" between the villages Inwil and Buchrain, close to Lucerne. Thanks to this ideal location, you can benefit from the fascinating city of Lucerne with its cultural and culinary offers, or just stroll along the lake. The Lake Lucerne Region offers countless opportunities for memorable excursions.
A cycling tour around lake of Baldegg or through the blooming orchards in spring time is an extraordinary excursion.
The official cycling route n° 9 („Veloland Schweiz“) as well as the „Herzroute“ (Heart Route) are nearby. Combine your cycling tour with an overnight stay on our farm.
Lucerne

Lake Valley
The valley of castles and lakes
The lake valley with its lakes, Lake Hallwil and Lake Baldegg, offers lovely landscapes, unspoilt lakefronts, rolling hills and a fantastic view into the Central Swiss Alps.
The lakes are to be easily explored by foot or bike. You also find romantic bathing places and fire places. The valley attracts with 4 castles: The moated castle of Hallwyl in Seengen, the proud Lenzburg Castle, Heidegg Castle which is nicely situated on a hill in Gelfingen and Wildegg Castle with its big garden. There castles offer a big varity of culture with interesting exhibitions.
On the lake of Hallwil, you may enjoy a relaxing boat trip.
